ABOUT
IceMetric is being built for skaters who want the numbers to mean something.
About the developer
Alexander McKelvey
I am Alexander McKelvey, a freshman at Westminster Schools of Augusta and a competitive figure skater who has been on the ice since I was four years old. I skate primarily singles, and I have passed my Gold Skating Skills, Pre-Silver Singles, and Pre-Bronze Lead Patterned Partnered Ice Dance, as well as participated in synchronized skating, so IceMetric is built from the perspective of someone who actually lives the training grind.
I originally got the idea for IceMetric watching the Olympics and wondering what it would be like if elements I do within my practice could get scored the same way (spoiler, anyone???). I wanted a way to bring that level of detail, realness, and accountability into everyday practice instead of only seeing it on TV once every four years. Toe loop is the best jump, by the way. I am just using this app to finally settle that argument.
While IceMetric is still in development, I plan to use it personally once my parents let me have a phone. Seriously! Phones are bad for you, kids... unless you are using them to analyze your skating.
